    • Israeli who seized top Nazi figure lauds German nationalists
The legendary former Mossad agent who led the operation to capture Holocaust mastermind Adolf Eichmann has expressed surprising support for the nationalist Alternative for Germany party.

The 91-year-old Rafi Eitan says in a video statement on his Facebook page Saturday that Israel appreciates the party's "attitude toward Judaism" and looks for them to also "become an alternative to Europe."

The party, AfD, won 12.6 percent of the vote in Germany's September election to win seats in parliament for the first time and become the country's third-biggest party. Its leaders have expressed anti-Semitic statements and played down the crimes of the Nazi regime.

Eitan, a former Israeli Cabinet minister, appeared to endorse the party's hard-line toward Muslim immigrants.

    • Russia launches missile strike on Syrian rebels after downing of fighter jet
Russia launched an airstrike with precision-guided missiles against rebel forces in Syria Saturday after the pilot of a downed Russian fighter jet was killed on the ground after parachuting to safety, according to Russian and Western media reports.

The incident comes as Syrian government forces, backed by Russian air support and Iranian arms, have intensified their offensive into Idlib. The northwest province is one of the last rebel-held bastions in Syria. It is also host to several Islamist groups affiliated with al-Qaeda.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its military conducted the "massive precision-guided strike" against Al-Nusra, the Russian-funded RT news network reported.

The ministry said its Su-25 jet crashed after apparently being shot down by a hand-carried, ground-to-air missile. The pilot ejected safely, but was killed by militants on the ground, the ministry said, according to the state-owned TASS news agency.

    • Fury in Israel as Poland proposes ban on referring to Nazi death camps as 'Polish'
      Page: 2
My family are Austrian/Poles. There was no love of the Jews by the Poles in Poland prior to WW2. Actually the Poles hated them for the same reasons that pretty much everyone hates them. They took control of whole sectors of the economy. Just like in Germany and the US the Jews ran all the stores, were a large % of doctors, lawyers and other professional people. Prior to WW2, a huge % of Warsaw was Jewish. They owned everything and discriminated against the Poles.

About this collaboration, its nonsense. After the German blitz, the SS showed up in towns. They usually came to the mayor of the town and asked for a list of all the Jews in the town. Than they rounded them up. If you didnt cooperate they replaced you with someone who would.

Here is the reality - Polish Jews are not Poles, they are Jews. Just like there are no German Jews, they are Jews. Same thing here in the US. They were widely hated in Poland and when the opportunity arrived to get rid of them, the Poles took it.

    • Netanyahu: Trump 'did a great service for peace' with Jerusalem announcement
      http://thehill.com/policy/international/371100-netanyahu-trump-did-a-great-service-for-peace-with-jerusalem

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised President Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital in an interview on Sunday, calling the move "a great service for peace."

"He did a great service for peace because peace can only be based on truth, on reality. And denying the simple fact that Israel's capital is Jerusalem is -- pushes peace backward by creating an illusion, a fantasy. You can't build peace on fantasy," Netanyahu told CNN's Fareed Zakaria.

"The seat of government is in Jerusalem. This has been the case for the 70 years of Israel's existence that we're celebrating now. Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people since the time of King David. That's only 3,000 years ago," he said.

    • Has Iran's Ahmadenejad been arrested by Iranian government?
      https://www.timesofisrael.com/report-ex-iranian-president-ahmadinejad-arrested-for-inciting-unrest/

Former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been arrested by authorities for allegedly inciting unrest against the government, the London-based daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported Saturday, citing "reliable sources in Tehran."

The newspaper said that Ahmadinejad, during a visit to the western city of Bushehr on December 28, said, "Some of the current leaders live detached from the problems and concerns of the people, and do not know anything about the reality of society."

He supposedly added that Iran was suffering from "mismanagement" and that the government of President Hassan Rouhani "believes that they own the land and that the people are an ignorant society."

    • Saudi Billionaire Boasts of Manipulating Fox News Coverage
      http://www.aim.org/press-release/saudi-billionaire-boasts-of-manipulating-fox-news-coverage/

Accuracy in Media (AIM) is urging a full inquiry into a report that a Saudi billionaire caused the Fox News Channel (FNC) to dramatically alter its coverage of the Muslim riots in France after he called the network to complain. The Saudi billionaire, Al-waleed bin Talal, is a friend of News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch and controls an influential number of voting shares in the company.

"This report underscores the danger of giving foreign interests a significant financial stake in U.S. media companies," declared Cliff Kincaid, editor of Accuracy in Media.

The controversial comments came at an Arab media conference featuring representatives of Time magazine, USA Today, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, and other news organizations. The conference and the Saudi Prince's growing influence in News Corporation are among the subjects of a new December-A AIM Report that has just been posted at the AIM website (http://www.aim.org). The report raises the specter of Arab money influencing News Corporation and other U.S. media companies.

    • 1,000 Protesters Arrested in Iran as Unrest Continues and Prisons Fill
      https://www.thedailybeast.com/blindfolded-justice-1000-protesters-arrested-in-iran-as-unrest-continues-and-prisons-fill

After six days of anti-government protests that have caught Islamic Republic authorities off guard, a series of pro-regime (and regime-staged) demonstrations took place around the country on Jan. 3, while the arrests of hundreds of anti-regime protesters continued.

The Islamic Republic's top reformist politician, former president Mohammad Khatami, angered many when he presided over a meeting held by the reform-oriented Assembly of Militant Clerics. During the meeting, there was strong language condemning the anti-government protesters.

The country's police chief, Hossein Ashtari, claimed in a speech to his forces that 70 percent of the protests' organizers have been arrested, although he stopped short of giving a specific number.

    • Sand Wars: Interesting documentary (47-minutes) about how the world's sand is disappearing
      Interesting. Makes sense.

Taking hundreds of millions of tons of sand and dumping it into the ocean to piss away on the disastrous "The World" developments, which was left hideously unfinished but would be only a slightly lesser blight on Earth if completed, ought to be a hangin' crime.

Who the hell ever would have thought they'd be running out of usable sand in the desert? Maybe that kind of primitive business sense explains why their oil business is such a volatile clusterfuck.

    • Israel has started handing out notices to 20,000 male African migrants giving them two months to leave the country or risk being thrown in jail.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government is offering the migrants, most of whom are from Sudan and Eritrea, $3,500 and a plane ticket to what it says is a safe destination in another country in sub-Saharan Africa.
