    • I don't understand why more people don't home school if you live in a shitty area? You could get one adult to teach 5 kids, pay them for their time, and come out 10x further ahead.

Because people who live in shitty areas are mostly shitty people. They have the time to homeschool but they lack the ability to make good decisions. That's why they are poor in the first place.

Yeah, but it requires no education to teach the kids, anyone can do it.. I guess you need grade 12 to sort of push the kids through, but I've seen lots of uneducated people teach their kids decently in home school. Its a pretty good deal if you are in a shitty area

    • According to schooldigger.com, this school was 2% white in 1988. It was 26% black then; blacks are now less than 4% of the enrollment. 90% of the students are scoring the gratis comida.

It's been fucked for a long time. A lot of school districts in CA that were white majority 30 years ago are less than 10% white today.

Immigration (legal as well as illegal) is the primary driving force of CA's beyond insane housing prices. Imagine how things would be if we were in an inflationary economy. /sarc

The inescapable conclusion is that CA is no place for middle-class white people.

In all fairness, back when I lived in the neighborhood with the $800K house, my assigned middle school was Mt. Gleason, which was 45% white at the time. It's now a magnet school with 35% or so white population.

I got out of California due to what you said above. I am middle class and it's no place for people with middle class sensibilities.

    • The apparent growing appetite for suburban living presents a unique challenge to California. The state policy is aggressively anti-suburban, placing ever-higher hurdles on any development on the periphery. This, over time, is slowing construction in the interior and forcing housing prices unnaturally up, even in these areas.

Some so-called progressives hail these trends, as forcing what they seem to see as less desirable elements - that is, working- and middle-class people - out of the state. They allege that this is balanced out by a surge of highly educated workers coming to California. Essentially, the model is that of a gated community, with a convenient servant base nearby.

Yet, in reality, this may prove to be wishful thinking. A dive into Internal Revenue Service data shows distinctly that, while poor people are, indeed, leaving, the largest group of outmigrants tends to be middle-aged people making between $100,000 and $200,000 annually. They may not be ideal algorithm creators for Facebook, but they do constitute the solid middle ranks critical to any healthy economy.

    • Saw the shack being built. Old man drove by regularly to ensure the tract house built along with a couple hundred others by the same firm was being properly constructed. 1964 was the groovy year we moved into our first purchased home. I recall the selling price new was $14,500.

Time flies by and evey family unit member dies ceptin' fer' one... me

Using that Zillow thing that e-mails me every couple months giving me an estimated value for my current dive (over-valued by Zillow. I would likely get $10,000 less than their guesstimate) the old shack sold in 1972 for an amount I forget is now worth:

"This home last sold for $527,500 in February 2017."

Real estate taxes must be sky-high.

      White alone 51,553 58.5%
      Hispanic 19,582 22.2%

The Negroes always have driven over from their enclaves closer to the bay to commit their depredations against the unsuspecting non-Negroes. I now know that it was our relatively large percentage of Chicanos that kept the Negro beasts at bay. Sucked being a Gringo back then with the Beaners on the prowl. Better fighting beaners than Negroes, however.

Fucking Livermore/Tri-valley area has changed immensely. Where I-680 now conveys countless carriages a mere two-lane road was ample when I was a lad. Pleasanton was a village of 3,500 with all the businesses on Main Street and the "dime store" had wooden planks as flooring... building likely was built in the early 1900s or earlier.

There was enough agriculture in the area that the feds converted a few old WW 2-era barracks at Camp Parks near Pleasanton (around 6 miles from Livermore) into a migrant labor camp. It was there where I was escorted by two Beaners to the Brown Beret cell meeting.

      Fuck.

      California has gone to shit.

Far too crowded and with the wrong types of fuckers.

      Culture matters... A LOT!!!

The filth that have foisted this multiculturalism and diversity SCAM deserve life sentences at hard labor.

      USA is doomed.

      The future pictorially, fuckers.

Better the USA be obliterated and its society and all within demolished and if anything survives it deserves enslaving.

If any warriors survive they will die fighting the barbarians attempting to enslave them. Nothing akin to feeble-minded Negroes allowing themselves to be servants/slaves to their betters/masters.

Better to die as a warrior taking as many of the fuckers with you as possible than living in chains.

    • Pleasanton started out as a middle-class suburb (lots of cops lived there) that eventually became much more upscale.

The highly ranked school district (most schools had an API of 10 (90th percentile or better)) has proven to be attractive to the Bay Area's burgeoning Asian immigrant population. This is happening in all the affluent Eastbay suburbs along the 580/680/24 corridor.

When Proposition 209 passed eliminating Affirmative Action in CA, the UC Admissions Office came up with something even better- admission to the UC system is based on HS class ranking regardless of where a student went to school. A low scoring barrio or ghetto HS is treated equally to a high scoring HS in an affluent area. High ranking schools that are 35% Asian might see 75% of UC admissions go to them. The bottom line is that many affluent, successful people in the 580/680 /24 corridor are seeing their children not being able to get into the UC system that many of them attended.

Which means that all 5 kids will probably have to rack up massive student loans if they want to go to college.

Homeschooling also means that the kids will grow up to be socially awkward, and unable to network in large crowds, without running to mommy. How many Senators & Fortune 500 CEOs were homeschooled K-12?

    • Yuppies and homosexuals tend to not have children so the public school is of no consequence to them. They want to do the cool new thing and right now that is living in the ghetto and contributing to gentrification while at the same time claiming to be SJW warrior. If you pay $800K for your house and several other yuppies and homosexuals do the same the city gets wise to it and raises the lot value to $700K. That means Paco is unable to afford the $20K a year property tax bill so he is forced to sell to a developer that remodels homes for sale to yuppies and homosexuals. In 10 years it becomes a high end area and so called progressive people pretty much do what the KKK would have done with a cross burning by driving people from their homes. Well, the gentrification way does put some money in the pockets of the poor but they think they are rich so they buy shit they can't afford like a $70K diesel F250 and they are broke within 2 years tops.
