• I met Mark Everson at a fundraiser two nights ago in Bel Air
I said, "oh I remember you, you're that knob-end who got made to look a total chump in Aaron Russo's film From Freedom to Fascism".

He seemed like a nice, down to earth guy. He doesn't know the difference between a salad and a steak though. Or that the 16th Amendment gave no new powers of taxation. :snicker:

    • Is "Autism" synonymous with "Retard"?
No, but it is synonymous with dangerous anti-social fuck up. At least with downs you give them a doggy toy or something and they are happy for a few hours.

    • U.S. Navy would last about 3 days in a shooting war with Russia. Maybe a week if they hide in port.
We didn't build the Nimitz class aricraft carriers so we could have giant Midway style battles with the Russians. We built them to project power against developing world shitholes who get out of line, which is what they have done and continue to do effectively. The Navy's mission in a hypothetical war with Russia would be to escort convoys across the Atlantic and hunt subs. If anything, the carrier planes would probably be send to Europe to help replace Airforce losses while the empty carriers sat in port.

    • 2 women arrested in ISIS inspired New York City terror plot
Federal authorities have arrested two women who were allegedly planning to detonate a bomb in the New York City area after being radicalized by ISIS, according to ABC News

Authorities say the public was never in danger, as it was all part of a lengthy undercover FBI operation. The women were allegedly looking to build an improvised explosive device, but it's unclear how far along their plan had reached.

The women -- in their 20s and 30s -- were arrested earlier Thursday in New York, and authorities are convinced ISIS propaganda and their alleged online activities contributed to their ultimate shift toward violence.

Such arrests tied to ISIS have become a weekly occurrence recently.

    • 4 CHARGED IN UGANDA-BASED COUNTERFEIT US CURRENCY SCHEME
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted four men in a Uganda-based scheme that led to counterfeit currency being shipped to and passed in the United States.

The indictment announced Thursday charges 27-year-old Ryan Andrew Gustafson, of Uganda, with producing the bills and selling them on black market websites. He's been in custody since December on charges reiterated in the indictment and on separate counts brought by Ugandan authorities of counterfeiting that country's currency, too.

The three new defendants charged are 18-year-old Zackary Ruiz, of Las Vegas; 20-year-old Michael Lin, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and 30-year-old Jeremy Miller of Seattle.

Authorities say Lin passed bogus notes and offered a Web-based guide on how to do that at casinos.

    • LOL - US GDP growth at 0%
      Q) So does the Atlanta Fed have some great past record of accurate forecasts that everyone should get excited when they're predicting radically lower growth than anyone else?

      A) No, but that doesn't stop the ZeroHedge gloomfags from making it the centerpiece of this week's doom and gloom.

P.S. Remember that the gloomfags have been screeching "sell, sell" every fucking inch of the way from Dow 6,800 to Dow 18,000

Deputies were called to Pine Grove Cottages at Lake George around 1 a.m. Wednesday to deal with a domestic dispute, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Police found a woman had barricaded herself in a cabin and was threatening to harm herself with razor blades.

The suspect, Elisabeth M. Lutz, repeatedly swung a wood and metal crucifix at officers who tried to help her, nearly hitting one in the face, the sheriff's office said.
